Qualcomm today announced its third quarter financial report and also shared some expectations for the next quarter. In this report, the company mentioned that with the delay of a 5G flagship phone, it is expected to affect Q4 shipments. The Verge reported that Qualcomm therefore hinted that the iPhone 12 5G will be postponed or listed.
According to Twitter broke the news, Jon Prosser said that the new Apple iPhone 12 and iPad models will be released or listed in October. And it looks like there is more than one iPad.
If true, this is not an unprecedented move by Apple. The company released the iPhone X in September 2017, but did not go on sale until November. A similar thing happened with the iPhone XR in 2018. It was released in September and went on sale in October.
According to a report, Apple’s 2020 iPhone 12 models will be equipped with a 5nm A14 chip. Due to improved thermal management, the chip is expected to be faster and have higher battery efficiency. With the A14 chip, Apple will also focus on accelerating artificial intelligence and AR tasks through the neural engine.
The news broke that A14 chips will not be expected to be shipped on a large scale until August. TSMC is expected to prepare 80 million A14 chips for the Apple iPhone 12 series this year.
The cheaper 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models will have 4GB of RAM, while the high-end 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro models will have 6GB of RAM.
