According to foreign media reports, Apple today obtained a patent for a folding screen iPhone. This technology allows the iPhone to display various information in an interesting way after folding.

This patented technology shows that this folding screen is not symmetrically folded according to the “center line”, but asymmetrically . After the device is folded, a screen will leak. The leaked screen can be used to display various notifications and various status information, such as battery power.

Apple said in the patent application document that the uncovered display part can be used to display any suitable content, for example, it can display incoming messages (e-mail, text messages, etc.), calendar content (such as Meeting reminders), alarms (such as alarm clocks and location-based alarms), battery status, wireless signal strength, flight mode status, and other status information.

In addition, this part of the screen can also be used to display various icons (for example, icons associated with default applications and/or a group of frequently used and/or user-defined applications) and/or other content.

After the device is folded, this part of the screen will continue to retain its touch screen function.

Apple stated in the patent application document that the displayed content may be interactive (for example, the content may include items such as selectable icons, selectable buttons, selectable menu options, and/or other selectable content). Choose these.

Another way of interaction can be done on a very small auxiliary display on the back of the device. In other words, it is very similar to the Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro.

Although Apple’s launch of a folding screen iPhone seems inevitable, and Apple has applied for many related patents, but for new technologies, Apple’s philosophy is to hold a “wait and see” attitude. In Apple’s words, it wants to be the best, not the first.

So far, the performance of other brands of folding screen phones is not very good. Therefore, analysts said that we are unlikely to see a folding screen iPhone in the short term.
