More and more evidence shows that Google Pixel 5 will not use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 flagship platform, but chose the Snapdragon 765G mid-range platform.
On May 20th, Android Police editor David Ruddock confirmed on Twitter that the Google Pixel 5 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G mobile platform. He claims that the Pixel 5 XL also uses this platform.
On the other hand, XDA found the “modem_model_mappings_json” string in Android 11 Developer Preview 4, the string contains “g7250”, indicating that Google Pixel models will use the Snapdragon 765G mid-range mobile platform.
In addition, Google suggested in a survey report that the Google Pixel 5 was priced at $699.
XDA pointed out that the $699 Google Pixel 5 is almost impossible to use the Snapdragon 865 flagship platform, because the cost of the Snapdragon 865 is much higher than the Snapdragon 765G, and it is more reasonable for Google to use the Snapdragon 765G at this price.
Unfortunately, other details about the Pixel 5 besides the processor are temporarily unknown. The previous Android 11 code hinted that the Google Pixel 5 series supports reverse wireless charging.
As usual, the Pixel 5 series will be unveiled in October this year.
