I want to believe that most of you reading this right now must have tried sending an SMS whether on your MTN SIM, Airtel SIM, Glo SIM or 9mobile SIM and after waiting for some minutes to ensure the message is successfully sent, you get an error message indicating that your message was not sent.
I once had the experience when I was still very young and naive but thankfully, I have a sophisticated senior brother, so I called him immediately and he sent me the message centre for MTN and the steps on how to resolve the issue. Guess what? He is now a flop 😂😂. Well, that was just by the way, back to the topic.
The message center number is responsible for transmitting signals for an outgoing message to your network service provider.
Most people use SMS as an alternative to delivering important messages especially when you try to reach the person through phone calls and the person’s number is neither available nor reachable.
SMS stands for Short Message Service and is the most widely used type of text messaging.
With an SMS, you can send a message of up to 160 characters to your friend or family for a cost of N4 Nigerian Naira from your airtime balance but you know what? If it were to be a phone call, your network service provider might probably deduct up to N50 worth of airtime to say those words those 160 characters in words.
Although, it is now easy to communicate and send messages via social media and your mobile data. Even though social media is widely used by billions of people around the world, SMS would still retain its portion of the market.
So if you have been having issues sending SMS, I’ll be listing the steps below on how to fix the issue alongside the message centre number for all the networks in Nigeria.
