This Tuesday (8) is on fire for Xbox fans. After the leaks of the night of Monday (7) where image, video and price of the most economical version of the new console were shown, Microsoft had no way out but to make everything official at once. First the price ($ 299) and now the trailer with the technical specifications.
The promotional video (below) is exactly the same seen in the @WalkingCat account on Twitter, which usually leaks details that are almost always accurate from Microsoft. Right away you can see that, even though it is a leaner edition of the Series X, the Series S promises a good performance at a much more affordable price, which can make this version very popular.
The trailer shows the S Series with support for 1440p resolution, frame rate up to 120 fps and upscaling to 4K in games. The video game will accompany ray tracing (for more realistic lights and shadows) and variable refresh rate.
The video also reveals that the Series S will load very quickly, thanks to the use of a custom SSD for the Xbox, and exchanges between games will also happen without gagging (according to Microsoft). Remember that the Series S is not compatible with discs.
Thanks to its more compact look and 60% smaller than the Series X, this console has already earned interesting nicknames, such as speaker and stack radio. In principle, it will be sold all in white and with a black circle on one side (probably for cooling).
The Xbox Series S will launch on November 10, 2020 alongside the Series X, which can cost $ 499.
