According to people familiar with the matter, the electronics giant has informed assembly partners and suppliers that orders for its next-generation game consoles are increasing dramatically, but logistics may pose a challenge for the timely delivery of all these machines during the holiday shopping season.
Bloomberg News previously reported that Sony had previously strived to produce 5-6 million PS5s by the end of March 2021.
A Sony spokesman declined to comment. “Nikkei News” earlier reported that Sony plans to increase the output of this game console. The game console is scheduled to be released this fall.
