Chadwick Boseman’s career in films
The death was confirmed last Friday (28); the news took many by surprise because the actor had not revealed to the public that he had been undergoing surgery and chemotherapy treatments.
Boseman was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, the same year as the release of Captain America: Civil War , which introduced his character. Since then, he has been present in three more Marvel films: Black Panther , Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Ultimatum.
Black Panther grossed $ 1.3 billion in theaters: it is the highest grossing film with a black director, and the 12th largest of all time. This was also the first MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) title to win several Oscars, including best costume design, best original soundtrack and best production design.
Boseman also starred in Dead End Crime , Marshall: Equality and Justice and King: A History of Vengeance . His latest film will be Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom , from Netflix, currently in post-production. Meanwhile, Black Panther 2 is under development at Marvel and is scheduled for release in May 2022.
