Dark theme for WhatsApp for web has not yet been released, but is in an advanced stage of development.
The dark mode ( dark mode ) is getting closer to being released for the Web version of WhatsApp . Although there is no official date for this, a recent update to the tool reveals that the development of the feature is at an advanced stage, suggesting that we will have news soon.
The information comes from WABetaInfo , which noted that the web version of WhatsApp was recently updated to build 2.2013.7. With the change, the first references to a dark theme that had been identified in February, but which now appears to be in the final stage of development.
One of the noticeable advances is the correction of the display of emojis. The screenshots previously released showed that these symbols were displayed with a white background. It doesn’t happen anymore.
The WABetaInfo also found the screen that allows the user to switch between light theme (default) and the dark interface which is similar to the menu presented in WhatsApp for Android and that was not ready in February.
Unfortunately, the dark theme of WhatsApp for the web is not yet officially available and there is no expected date for its release. But, as current catches suggest that there is not much to work on, there is a good chance that the feature will appear to all users soon, perhaps by the end of this season.
